This Privacy Policy explains how IASify ("IASify," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information in connection with the IASify website, mobile application(s), and related services (collectively, the "Platform"). This Policy should be read together with our Terms and Conditions.
By using the Platform, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to all visitors and registered Users of the Platform. It does not apply to third-party websites, applications, or services that may be linked from the Platform, which are governed by their own privacy policies.
2. Information We Collect
2.1. Information you provide directly
- Account information — when you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and (where available) profile picture from Google.
- Profile details — information you add to your IASify profile, such as your optional subject, attempt number, targeted exam year, and chosen avatar.
- User-generated content — questions you author (whether kept private or shared with IASify), saved questions, and any explanations or notes you add.
- Communications — messages you send through the feedback tool, question-report tool, or any other in-Platform communication channel.
2.2. Information collected automatically
- Gameplay and activity data — match history, questions answered, selected options, correctness, scores, Ratings, XP, streak activity, and practice-session statistics.
- Device and log data — IP address, browser type, device identifiers, timestamps, and general usage patterns (e.g., pages visited, features used, session duration).
- Cookies and similar technologies — as described in our separate Cookie Policy.
2.3. Information from third parties
- Google — when you authenticate via Google Sign-In, Google shares certain profile information with us as described above, subject to your Google account settings and Google's own privacy policy.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data (such as financial account details, health information, or biometric data) through the Platform.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- create and manage your Account;
- operate core Platform features, including matchmaking, Battles, Ratings, leaderboards, XP, and streaks;
- generate and personalize the Daily Current Affairs Quiz and other practice content;
- send you Platform-related notifications (e.g., match results, feedback replies, admin messages), subject to your notification preferences where such controls are available;
- respond to your feedback, questions, and reports;
- monitor for and prevent cheating, abuse, and violations of our Terms and Conditions;
- maintain the security, integrity, and reliability of the Platform;
- analyze aggregated, de-identified usage trends to improve the Platform;
- comply with applicable legal obligations and enforce our Terms and Conditions.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
Where applicable law requires a legal basis for processing personal data, we rely on one or more of the following: your consent (given by creating an Account and agreeing to this Policy), the necessity of processing to provide the Services you have requested, our legitimate interest in operating, securing, and improving the Platform, and compliance with legal obligations.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We may share information as follows:
5.1. Service providers
We use third-party infrastructure and service providers to operate the Platform, including:
- Hosting and database providers (currently Supabase, which provides our database, authentication, and backend infrastructure) and application hosting providers (currently Vercel), who process data on our behalf under appropriate confidentiality obligations.
- Authentication providers (Google), for sign-in.
- Content-generation service providers, including third-party AI/automated content tools used to help compile the Daily Current Affairs Quiz from publicly available news sources.
These providers only receive the information necessary to perform their functions and are contractually or operationally restricted from using it for any other purpose.
5.2. Other Users
Certain profile information is visible to other Users by design, including your display name, avatar, XP, and Ratings (via public leaderboards and profile pages). Your email address and other private account details are never shown to other Users.
5.3. Legal and safety reasons
We may disclose information where required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of IASify, our Users, or the public.
5.4. Business transfers
If IASify is involved in a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy or a successor policy of which you will be notified.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your Account remains active and as necessary to provide the Platform's Services. Following account deletion (where such a feature is available) or a reasonable period of inactivity, we will delete or anonymize your personal data, except where retention is required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, or maintain aggregate/anonymized records for analytics.
7. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction, including access controls (such as row-level security on our database) and encrypted transmission of data. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India), you may have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data;
- request erasure of your personal data, subject to legal or legitimate business retention needs;

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in Section 13. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
9. Children's Privacy
The Platform is intended for use by individuals aged 13 and above. Where a User is between 13 and 18 years of age, use of the Platform should occur with the awareness and consent of a parent or legal guardian, consistent with our Terms and Conditions. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it.
10. Cookies
The Platform uses a limited set of cookies necessary for authentication and session management, and a short-lived cookie used to cache your account status for performance purposes. We do not currently use third-party advertising or analytics cookies. Full details are available in our Cookie Policy.
